Christopher Stell studied with Michael Lewin at the Royal Academy of Music, and then with Sergio and Odair Assad in Brussels. It was at this time that Christopher began his collaboration with Mark Eden forming the Eden Stell Guitar Duo. Chris has performed in over 20 countries, including tours in the USA and China and had concerto engagements with renowned ensembles such as the Prague Chamber Orchestra.
International recitals include an appearance at the Guitar Foundation of America Omni Foundation Concert Series in San Francisco and the Alla Grande Festival in Canada. Chris has also performed at prestigious venues such as the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Stuttgart Liederhalle, The Sage in Gateshead, Uppsala Kongress Hall in Sweden, 92nd Street Y in New York and, in London’s Purcell Rooms, Wigmore Hall and Kings Place.
In 2019 Chris was invited to give a special performance of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal in the Stadttheater Aschaffenburg in the presence of Cecilia Rodrigo.
Chris is a founding members of the VIDA Guitar Quartet who have rapidly become one of the world’s most celebrated classical guitar ensembles with concerts throughout Europe USA and China.
Chris is a D’Addario Strings endorsed artist.

Please choose any piece from a current examination syllabus or a piece appropriate to the grade.
A Grade 8 class cannot be entered if more than a year has elapsed since achieving Grade 8.
The Robert Bouffler Music Trust can help with the cost of an accompanist! The Trust will consider requests for mini-grants of up to £35. Please note that grants are intended to support families of limited means. If you live or go to school in East Surrey/Tandridge, and would like to apply for a mini-grant up to £35, email the Trust’s Hon.
