Strings Syllabus 2024

Classes held on 10th May 2024 (Senior Strings), 14th May 2024 (Intermediate Strings) and 16th May 2024 (Junior Strings) at Redhill United Reformed Church, Upper Hall.

Irish violist Rebecca is a Masters graduate of the Royal College of Music, London where she studied with Andriy Viytovych, Simon Rowland Jones and Jennifer Stumm. Whilst there she featured as a RCM Rising Star resulting in performances at Cadogan Hall and the Royal Festival Hall and was a winner of several major prizes at Siemens Feis Ceoil, Dublin.
As a busy freelance violist Rebecca works regularly with many UK orchestras and opera houses. An avid chamber musician, Rebecca has performed throughout Europe and as a member of the Córran Quartet was most recently Buxton International Festival Chamber group in residence 21/22 and a Britten Pears Young Artist 2022. Rebecca is passionate about music education and, alongside her teaching for Junior departments of Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal Academy of Music, she also leads music education access programmes in schools and youth centres.

The Robert Bouffler Music Trust can help with the cost of an accompanist! The Trust will consider requests for mini-grants of up to £35. Please note that grants are intended to support families of limited means. If you live or go to school in East Surrey/Tandridge, and would like to apply for a mini-grant up to £35, email the Trust’s Hon. Secretary at barbara@rbmt.org.uk, giving your address, school attended, the Section/Class you are entering, and the name and email address of your accompanist (as the Trust will pay them directly).
Junior Classes
Open to participants of all ages.
Own choice classes – please abide by Regulations 17 and 18.
‘Own choice’ means any one piece from any of the exam board syllabuses, eg ABRSM, Trinity, MTB, etc., for the appropriate grade or a selected piece chosen at the discretion of your teacher which is of the same standard.
